Your Voice Matters

Hello, world. Or as I like to say, “Hellooooo, greatness!”

Today’s topic is something close to my heart… and also my vocal cords: Your Voice. It Matters. Every single syllable. Every awkward pause. Every time you clear your throat before saying something brave. It all matters.

Now, some people say, “Michael, you’re not exactly the best person to talk about using your voice.” To which I respond: Exactly. That’s what makes me perfect for this. Because I’ve said the wrong thing more times than I’ve said the right thing—and I’m still standing. I’ve been booed, ignored, fake-laughed at (looking at you, Stanley), but guess what? I kept speaking.

Why? Because your voice is powerful. It’s like a stapler in Jell-O. You may try to hide it, but it always finds a way to come out.

When you don’t speak up, the world misses out on something only YOU can bring to the table. And I love tables. I’ve spoken at round tables, long tables, even a ping pong table once. The shape doesn’t matter. The message does.

So this is your moment. Whether you’re telling your story in front of thousands, or just asking for the last donut in the break room—speak up. Someone out there needs to hear what only you can say.

And if you’re nervous? That means it’s worth saying.

Your voice matters. Use it wisely… or use it weirdly. Just use it.

Keep speaking,
