Let’s talk about failure. You know, that thing that happens when you try and things go very, very badly. Like the time I declared bankruptcy by yelling “I DECLARE BANKRUPTCY!” in the middle of the office. Technically incorrect. Emotionally powerful.
Here’s the truth: failure gets a bad rap. People act like it’s the end of the world. But it’s not. It’s just success on its day off. No tie. No pressure. Just sweatpants and lessons.
Every great person has failed. Thomas Edison. Oprah. Batman probably. And guess what? They didn’t stop. They learned. They leveled up. They got back out there—even if it meant looking ridiculous for a while. I fail all the time. I once planned a surprise party for myself and still managed to be surprised. That’s talent. That’s resilience.
If you’ve failed recently, good. That means you were brave enough to try. The only real failure is never showing up at all.
So keep swinging. Keep stumbling. Keep saying weird things that you thought sounded smarter in your head.
Because every “no” is just a “yes” that’s still in its pajamas.
Keep going,
Michael Scott
